What do I have to consider in case of an accident and how do I proceed?

Please proceed as follows in the event of an accident.
1. secure the accident site
Switch on the hazard warning lights
Put on a warning waistcoat
Set up a warning triangle at a distance of about 100 metres.
In the event of minor damage, remove the vehicle immediately from the danger zone.
In the case of more serious damage, do not remove any traces of the accident and wait until the accident has been investigated.
 
2. provide care for the injured and inform the rescue services
Call 117 (police)
 
3. document accident site and vehicles
Identification papers
Note down important data, e.g. registration number, address of vehicle owner, insurer, policy number.
Record the exact time and place of the accident, take photos of the accident and the vehicles involved.
Draw up an accident report and have it signed by all parties involved.
 
4. report the car accident to us
