The basic package protects you in case of accidental damage or theft of the vehicle. It is included in your rental cost and limits your financial responsibility (also known as "excess"). It reduces your financial excess, depending on the category, to between CHF 1500 and CHF 3000 in the event of theft or damage to the vehicle, its parts and accessories, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement.
If you want to reduce this amount to 0CHF, as well as to protect yourself from parking damages, you can simply purchase the "Carefree Package" protection options.
You should therefore check if your private coverage is sufficient to cover damages, theft, handling fees, and depreciation before purchasing the extended liability reduction. If you refuse the additional protection options “Carefree Package”, you will have to pay the corresponding costs and request a refund from your insurance company. The extended protection option "Carefree Package" is not an insurance!
